CLK Properties has acquired a 31 unit apartment building in the Kenwood-Hyde Park historic district of Chicago.
To be named “The Maynard”, this charming 1922 vintage, courtyard-style building, received a complete upgrade package in 2013, including all new unit interiors and building systems, making it a highly desirable choice for renters in this growing submarket of the city.
Craig Koenigsberg, CLK’s President and CEO commented, “We consider Chicago to be one of our top target-acquisition cities, particularly submarkets like Hyde Park and properties North of the business district up to Evanston, where demand and demographics have shown solid growth and strong indications of continued growth in the future.“
With The Maynard, named after Mr. Koenigsberg’s father, CLK has launched a platform to acquire similar assets in Chicago, with a focus on rehabbed properties and ones with upside potential that will benefit from updates and CLK’s brand of high quality property management.
CLK Properties is a privately held real estate investment and asset management company based in Woodbury, NY. Its multifamily interests are managed by affiliated Memphis based CLK Multifamily Management LLC.
